Strawberry Mango Agua Fresca (Agua Fresca de Fresa con Mango)

¡Hola Hola!

I know what you’re thinking, ¿Donde andabas perdido? I had to take a brief break from working on blog stuff because I spent the last few weeks packing and moving out of Southern California so I hadn’t been able to work on anything new. I also added a third baby to the pack and he’s been keeping me so so busy!

Meet Jepsen!

I’m really excited to talk about this new space and finally start working on what I’ve been wanting to do for a really long time, video! There is so much natural light to work with in this new space in comparison to the sole tiny window we had before in our apartment, but I’ll be sharing a little bit more about this in another post!

Today we’re making a refreshing strawberry mango agua fresca. I had stopped by the Farmers Market over the weekend and both the strawberries and mangoes looked too sweet and juicy to pass up. Whenever you’re making an agua fresca, make sure you are using fruit that is ripe so that your agua is flavorful and sweetened naturally so you don’t have to add spoonfuls and spoonfuls of extra sugar to sweeten it. If you happen to have any extra strawberries, slice them and add them to your pitcher for a nice garnish.

I hope you are all staying cool this Summer, I’ll be back later this week with more recipes! ¡Nos vemos pronto!

Strawberry Mango Agua Fresca

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes
Servings 9 Cups
Calories 70kcal

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lbs Ripe Strawberries stems removed and roughly chopped
  • 2 Cups Ripe Champagne (Ataulfo) Mangoes (from about 4 mangoes)
  • 2 ounces Lime juice (approximately 1 lime)
  • 6 cups Water

To serve

  • Sugar to taste
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Start by placing the chopped strawberries in a blender, then peel the mangoes and use a knife to carefully slice around the pit. Toss the pit, then add the sliced mango to the blender and blend to purée. (If you can't find fresh ripe strawberries or mangoes, buy them frozen! Just let them thaw before using.)
  • Once the fruit has been puréed, add the lime juice then pour 6 cups of water into the blender and blend until smooth. Pour your agua into a large pitcher then taste for sweetness and add sugar if it needs to be adjusted.
  • Add a few cups of ice to the pitcher then give it a stir and serve.
  • For easy margaritas, stir in 1 cup of your favorite tequila.

Hi Pete! I’d start by adding one cup of your favorite tequila then adjusting to your taste!

Woops! I edited the recipe and accidentally removed the line from there! I fixed it, but you add it to the blender along with the water.

OMG! I don’t cook, but this recipe gave me the confidence to try it out. I am happy to say that I’ve successfully made this many times and it’s delicious. I love the taste and it’s so refreshing. I don’t even need to add sugar since it’s pretty sweet on its own.
