Chicano Eats Cookbook Cover Reveal!

I am so excited to finally share with you the cover of my upcoming cookbook Chicano Eats: Recipes from my Mexican-American Kitchen, set to be released on June 30th! The cookbook is now available to pre-order on Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.

I’ve been holding on to this little piece of chisme for two weeks now, and where do I even begin? There’s over 80 recipes, and 100 high res, glossy images! (EVERY SINGLE RECIPE HAS AN IMAGE!!!) I received proofs of all of the images last week, and I was speechless. Everything looks so good! I’ll be sprinkling images from the book throughout this post so you can take a look!

I want to write a separate post about the book later on to talk about the process, so I’ll give you a brief rundown of what to expect to see in it! The book is divided into 6 chapters, Essentials, Botanas (Appetizers), Tacos y Tortas (Tacos and Sandwiches), Platillos Fuertes (Main Dishes), Postres (Desserts), and Bebidas (Drinks).

Chapter one has you covered with different types of salsas, different bean recipes, and two different rice recipes (the rice is fluffy EVERY SINGLE TIME!!), as well as sauces and condiments. Chapter two has a handful of appetizers to share with friends and family, and chapter three includes recipes like mi abuelito’s tacos de adobada, chorizo spiced squash tacos, and portobello milanesa tortas! Chapter 4 has really great dishes like birria, chochoyotes con chicken (my take on chicken and dumplings) and three different types of pozole. Chapter 5 has some amazing desserts, like my strawberry jamaica birthday cake, or my guava cheesecake bars. And last but not least, chapter 6 has plenty (and I mean plenty) of aguas frescas and cocktails, like my toasted coconut horchata, or my mango passionfruit mojitos!
